Course Description:

This English course was set in a Indianapolis Public School setting at Shortridge Magnet High School. Our class was in charge of a poetry club at the high school called Exclusive Ink. There were a lot of students who participated in the club and several students who had a passion for poetry. It was amazing to see students so interested in writing and a great opportunity for students to express themselves. Personal Contribution: 

On top of assisting the students in following prompts to write poetry each week, I tutored one particular student in English twice a week. My student had failed his English ECA his sophomore year so we spent time each week reviewing for the test. I really felt that he was prepared to take the test by the end of the semester and found out that he passed it!  There were a few other Butler students who were tutoring people for their ECA exams. For my course project, I created 3 infographics to help the tutors and students with the ECA tutoring. These infographics were given to each student to help them prepare.
