Other Involvement:
My first two years of teaching came with a lot of amazing lessons, inspiring students, and many challenges. I have improved many lessons from one year to the next and pride myself in the ability to teach with varied practices. Having created personal relationships with many of my students, I have the ability to make them ponder life to become more empathetic through the literature that we read. My first year at Gabriel Richard, our English classes were organized by American and British literature. I was able to teach the historical context of all major works by introducing students to different works from the literary period. However, during my second year, the progression in the curriculum changed, so I took a thematic approach to teaching units. This allowed me to still teach a variety of genre's. For example, when teaching Macbeth we read several other short stories and poems that explored the team of Fate and Free Will.
